We show the machines and technology we use every day to grow, harvest, store and pack our vegetables.

The machine we harvest our onions with.
We harvest our onions with a Grimme WV180. It lifts them gently from the heavy Żuławy silt soil, cleans off leaves and earth, and loads them onto the trailer. That lets us bring in around 50 hectares of onions quickly and without damaging the skin.

Guiding machines to centimetre accuracy.
We guide our machines across the field with Trimble GPS and RTK correction. The real-time corrected signal gives centimetre accuracy, so we drive evenly pass after pass, with no overlaps or gaps. That saves seed, fertiliser and fuel.

Automatic parallel steering for the tractor.
The John Deere Auto Pilot steers the tractor in parallel automatically. The operator watches the work while the machine holds the line. Together with RTK correction and variable-rate application it is the backbone of our precision farming: even work, less fatigue and lower fuel use.

Our own store with ventilation and drying.
We keep our onions in our own store with a capacity of around 1300 tonnes. Controlled ventilation and drying keep the skin dry and the onions sound for many months. That lets us time our sales and supply through most of the year, not just in season.

Automated sorting and packing.
We sort and pack our onions on an automated line, and a palletiser stacks the finished packs. We pack loose, in big bags and in sacks, choosing the calibre and format to suit the buyer. Automation gives repeatable quality and fast turnaround on larger orders.

A PV system on the warehouse roof.
A 25 kW photovoltaic system runs on the warehouse roof. Part of the energy we need to store and pack onions comes from the sun. That means a lower environmental footprint and more predictable running costs for the warehouse.
